Spinnler Talk
I had the pleasure talk about my photography with Sabrina.
The deep longing for simplicity and authenticity
We all know the feeling: deep wishes lie dormant inside us, yet they seem completely surreal because they represent the exact opposite of the life we have lived and the person we used to be.
What if it doesn't work out after all, or if it's all just an illusion? How would my life change if I really lived out my deepest wishes? Am I ready to follow a path that was never intended for me and meets external expectations?
This interview with photographer Sascha van der Werf is an excellent example for anyone who wants to experience themselves anew, both professionally and personally, and really make a difference
In the world of photography, few artists have made the monochrome attitude their own quite like Sascha van der Werf. Reduce colour to strengthen expression? Absolutely.
With his distinctive style, Sascha combines simplicity, minimalism, and emotion to create captivating images, distil the essence of stories, and focus on what matters. Every person deserves to see themselves in a new light, to have the chance to rediscover self-love and eliminate unnecessary distractions. Even those within ourselves.
This interview explores the deep longing for simplicity and authenticity, for what really matters in life. After many years of hard work in marketing and sales, Sascha realised he was longing for much more truthfulness. Because that was precisely what was so often missing in international marketing.
So at the age of 40, he turned his whole life upside down and devoted himself to photography, expressing the beauty of simplicity and capturing the essence of moments and subjects to leave a lasting impression.
